Last night as I was outside I watched fireflies in the garden: tiny little specks of brilliance against the darkness. Today as I sat being annoyed by flies and wondering where my fly swatter was, it belatedly occurred to me that these may be the same fireflies I briefly gazed at in wonder last night.
